This week marked a significant stride in my project. During a productive Zoom meeting with Prof. Laurie, we finalized the new materials matrix, a key milestone. I promptly sent it to Prof. Culpepper for review, staying on track despite the looming deadline of module 14.
The time pressure necessitated a thorough revision of several modules, aligning them with the new direction of my thesis. This process, though challenging, was enlightening. I developed a new user profile, "Sarah," and crafted her unique user journey. This exercise deepened my understanding of user journeys, user flows, and task flows, concepts I had previously conflated.
User flow
A turning point in my workflow came with the discovery of draw.io, recommended in one of the module videos. This tool transformed my approach to designing user flows, making the process both efficient and enjoyable.
Additionally, I updated my thesis website with the latest information. While it's currently a basic framework, I'm excited to see it evolve as I apply the final design elements from my one sheet. In line with this, I started working on several deliverables, applying the one sheet's design principles. I created a few posters and social media posts, which not only enhanced my project's visibility but also allowed me to experiment with practical applications of my thesis concepts.
I plan to continue developing these deliverables in the coming week.
Reflecting on this week, I feel a mix of satisfaction and anticipation. The progress, especially in understanding and applying complex concepts, has been immensely gratifying. However, the awareness of upcoming deadlines adds a layer of urgency to my work. Looking ahead, I aim to continue this momentum, focusing on refining my website and preparing for the next phases of my thesis, along with further developing the newly initiated deliverables.
