This week, I spent a lot of time working on the website, especially on planning how it should be laid out. I figured out what each button should do and how different pages will link to each other. I started with a sketch and then started putting it all together on the computer.
I still have a few pages that I haven't planned out completely. These include sections a quiz, career exploration, design circles, job fair, workshop, mentors, and advice for making portfolios and resumes. I also need to think more about how the sign-up and sign-in pages will work. I want to make it easy for users to keep their portfolios and resumes on the website, so they can quickly use them when applying for jobs. They should also be able to save their networking contacts.
I am still figuring out look and flow of the website but I started to flesh it out to start somewhere. I also want to add in some moving elements. I posted the video of an idea above. Each moving element will reinforce the theme of "Circles". I am also still figuring out what photography would work best for this project. I would really like to bring in a more funky vibe but I am still figuring out what that would look like. I still have a lot to do on the website, but here are a few started pages. For this week, my plan is to continue on the website. I would like to ideally be finished with in by Sunday. I need to then prototype it and user test it. Then follow up with more edits.
To be able to pass this class, I need to complete a few other items as well as the website protoype. I need to complete the job fair items, posters, and a few branding items for DZM.
I am updating the posters. Prof. Laurie suggested I lean more toward specific design careers. I researched a lot of careers and started to pick out what would be best for the posters. A few poster ideas I came up with... I like this direction better than the other.
